How to change the piston on the EMS EVO handpiece.

We have put together a short video, which details the step-by-step process on how the piston on the EMS EVO handpiece is replaced. This will allow you to correctly fit the new piston and carry on with the treatment of clients without any delay. It is a good idea to notify us of the number of shocks on the handpiece at the time of piston change, this will allow us to track the warranty of the new piston for you.

The importance of O-rings within the applicator.

The most common issues we find regarding handpieces, are that either the number of O-rings inside the applicator are incorrect or they have the incorrect sized O-rings fitted. The O-rings play an important part to protect the piston from unwanted gel entering the internals. They also ensure that the applicator sits at the required distance for the internal projectile to create the shockwave. In addition to the video above, here we have an example of a 15mm applicator for the EVO handpiece. The images show the size and number of O-rings which should be fitted, in their correct position for the 15mm applicator. Note – The smaller O-ring in the image is also the one used in between the piston and larger applicator heads. Please ensure only one of these is fitted.
